The Ottawa Mandarin Wesleyan Church (OMWC) is an evangelical Christian church that upholds the truths of the Bible and proclaims the salvation of Jesus Christ. Located in Kanata–known as the Northern Silicon Valley, due to the development of high technology–it has attracted many hightech professionals, and many new immigrants of Chinese origin.

English Speaking Youth Pastor
The Youth Pastor of OMWC will be responsible for: shepherding and leading the development of a comprehensive ministry; discipling the youth; coordinating with other departments of the church; and establishing a cohesive youth group.
The main duties of the Youth Pastor will be to teach the Word of God and shepherd the youth group. In addition, the Youth Pastor will develop various aspects of the ministry:
Qualifications
- Must be a Christian who is filled with the Holy Spirit and believes the Bible is inerrant. Their vision and values must be consistent with the Wesleyan denomination.
- Must complete a theology course of the Master of Divinity at an accredited seminary or obtain an equivalent degree.
- Will be able to provide pastoral counselling to the youth.
- Must be proficient in English.
- Will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must possess legal status to be able to live and work in Canada.
- Will have experience in youth ministries.
- Will have a criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector Check (valid within 6 months).
Main Duties
- Ministry Vision/Strategy: Develop and implement ministry visions and strategies.
- Curriculum setting: Select, develop and evaluate relevant courses and materials used in the ministry.
- Sunday Sermons: Preach the Word of God every Sunday.
- Bible Studies: Lead weekly bible studies that challenge the youth (who have a passion for God's word) to grow in their faith.
- Extracurricular Activities: Coordinate fun activities for the youth to hangout and get to know each other as friends.
- Co-workers: Appoint, train, coordinate and supervise members of the youth group as they serve and take on roles in ministry.
- Meetings: Attend OMWC board meetings.
- Summer Camps: Coordinate summer camps and summer outreach programs. Train and oversee youth employees and volunteers who will act as camp counsellors.
- Office hours: Work diligently with flexible office hours.
- Personal growth: Have a teachable heart and continue to equip yourself by participating in joint meetings, seminars, courses, or personal training.
